Hi Chris, first of all, thank you.
Then, about UTFGrid, yes, I had a look at them some time ago, and I think
it's a cool technology. The purpose is the same as imagemap extension, but
the implementation is quite different. I've also seen that OpenLayers
supports it and that makes a big difference in my opinion.
In the past I made some experiments to integrate imagemap as an OpenLayers
layer, with good results.
Maybe just finishing and publishing that work and some "advertising" could
provide a wider usage.
