Hi,
had a look and opened a few tickets.
The one that is mandatory to fix is
https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5930, the tutorial
gives wrong information and the result is an NPE for all GetRecords request.
Even with the tutorial fixed, it seems a full restart of GeoServer is
required when making changes
to the mapping file, this should be amended, or at least this behavior
should be clearly documented
so that people don't start wondering about a bug when their modifications
are not picked up
(at a minimum, I'd suggest to link the reloading of the mapping file with
the catalog "reload"
from the status page, having to restart a GeoServer with many layer to
discover one has made
a typo in the property paths is rather frustrating).
Also, I'd amend the example mapping to make sure the layer prefixedName is
part of the
normal output, it's rather weird to search the default data dir with
"AnyText like '%states%'
and getting back nothing.
Once the above two are fixed I'm +1 getting the module to extension state
Cheers
Andrea
