Issue Type: Improvement Improvement
Affects Versions: 2.4.0
Assignee: Justin Deoliveira
Components: Security
Created: 07/Oct/13 10:42 AM
Description:

Pre 2.4.x webapps could utilize the fact that the j_spring_security_check endpoint sent back a cookie that the app could use to authenticate on subsequent requests. This has changed with the geoserver form login updates on 2.4.x.

As stat3ed in GEOS-6076 a better approach would be a dedicated login/logout endpoint designed for webapps.
