A request log file (<root_geoserver_dir>/logs/yyyy_mm_dd.request.log) is updated by Geoserver for each incoming request.
I have tried to disable this logging with :

PRODUCTION_LOGGING profile
web.xml :
Request Logging Filter :
param 'enabled' set to false
param 'log_request_bodies' set to false

but the log file keeps growing

GeoServer 2.4.1
JRE 1.7
