Both the above make for a ugly or incomplete legend. Without making the painting code in GLG more complex, the style can be simply transformed before the painting code sees it:
-
the multiple feature type styles can be flattened in a single one, at the end of the day we are painting a single sample feature so it does not matter if we have many FTS or just one
-
categorize and recode can be exploded in a list of rules that the existing GLG code can handle (taking into account the combinatorial explosion in case multiple of them are used at the same time...)
-
Interpolate is harder, but we could just flatten it to a N classes setup and make it look like a categorize (in order to allow painting the other details in the symbolizer too, for example the fill or the stroke)
