Nicola, we are just about to release 2.6.0 (Tuesday?) and AFAIK accepting only urgent bug fixes on 2.6.x. If this is not a bug fix, I vote:
-1 before 2.6.0 is released, and then +1 after 2.6.0 is released. I you feel that this is an urgent change to prevent crashes that affect many users, it may be needed in 2.6.0.
