I have a high resolution map of the arctic consisting of two layers, land and sea. The land layer overlays the sea layer and has a transparent pixel value. This works fine using the standard image mosaic (other than performance with overviews) but is broken for the image pyramid (good performance though). The transparent pixel is displayed adjacent to non-transparent pixels in the land layer. My files are geotiff with 6 zoom levels.
