I can certainly see the value in this - it is a common one for use where 
we have geological maps at 1:50,000, 1:250,000, and 1:1,000,000.The 
generalization that goes on between scales is not trivial and certainly 
not automatic. It would be nice to have them in one service.  I am 
interested in the Andrea's comments about a pre-generalized store. Can 
this be elaborated please? I assume this is something that wouldnt work 
of pretty dynamic layers?
