Hi Andrea,
Thanks for the fast reply. Since we only have a few chained WPSes and
this is complex, it may take us a few days to check things out.
If the issue is still in the 2.8/2.9 series, I'll do my best to report
back with more info and add some unit tests and/or see if I can sort
some fixes.
Thanks again,
Jim

Hi all,
I'm working with a secured datastore (GeoMesa) which returns different
result sets based on user credentials. As we are using the GeoServer
Heatmap WPS in an SLD, the user credentials are propagated just fine.
We are seeing an issue when we try to chain together that heatmap WPS
with the import WPS. The user credentials are not passed to the
heatmap
WPS, and consequently, no features are returned.
I'm curious to know where in the code this may be handled (for my own
curiosity). From what I understand, there have been some major
updates
to WPS in 2.7/2.8, so I'm fine with a suggestion to upgrade.
Hi Jim,
processes are running in thread pools, passing thread local variables
(such as
the authentication) into the thread pool and cleaning them out is the job
ThreadLocalTransfer implementors, in particular, authentication
is tranferred by AuthenticationThreadLocalTransfer:
https://github.com/geoserver/geoserver/blob/master/src/main/src/main/java/org/geoserver/threadlocals/AuthenticationThreadLocalTransfer.java
This class is rather old though, 2 and a half years, but judging by
the first commit,
there is no integration test covering the use case end to end, just a
lot of unit ones, so it might
have regressed recently.
Cheers
Andrea
