Hi,
we just found out a nasty deadlock condition that might happen when a
reload is
triggered against a GeoServer that is also under tile load stress:

When this happens all tile access is toast, one has to restart the instance
to get it
to serve tiles again.
In the ticket I've tried to explain what I believe is the source of the
dealock, and
proposed a solution.
Has anyone time to verify that I'm on the right path? Otherwise I'll just
go ahead,
getting this to happen is not too hard, one just need to apply the right
amount of pressure
with the tile load while doing GS config reloads in parallel.
