May be cross posting on this but can't get to the other post. Have a Windows 2008r2 server that gives the error in the subject. I can see where it gives it in the code but have no idea why. Is there a work around to installing as a service on this system? Feeling a little pressure since we upgraded other components and not can't get Geoserver installed.
