Hi Andrea / Nuno,
I've spent a little time in the style page recently, so I created a bug for
this: https://osgeo-org.atlassian.net/browse/GEOS-7991 (I didn't see an
existing one).
The initialization logic for the style edit page could probably use a
little reworking, but in the mean time I believe there is a quick fix for
this issue. If it's as simple as I think, I'll slip in a PR for it today.
