The Authkey plugin distribution somehow does not contain accessors-smart-1.1.jar which is json-smart dependency. You need to download one from maven.org: http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/net/minidev/accessors-smart/1.1/ and put it into your Geoserver's lib folder. After restart everything worked for me.
