Hi Fernando, looking at the PR, it seems there is only a single new method to get the metadata map, and support for it in the implementation bean. No other changes around, so for the moment it's acting as storage for REST clients that are aware of the change.
Support for metadata maps serialization is baked into the XStreamPersister for both XML configuration and REST API, so it should be all transparent, but nevertheless there are changes covering it. I'm not worried about a backport, but I'd avoid doing it in one month as the backport rule for new functionality, as it would be close to the 2.15.2 release. Rather have some buffer, so suggest to backport sooner, or given how trivial the change is, even "now" (where now means, first merge, make sure nothing breaks, and then backport).
