To reproduce: Open the "giant_polygon" style Add the "grass_fill.png" online resource Preview the legend --> It shows a green square Do a GetLegendGraphic of the tiger:giant_polygon layer ( http://localhost:8080/geoserver/wms?SERVICE=WMS&VERSION=1.1.1&REQUEST=GetLegendGraphic&FORMAT=image%2Fpng&LAYER=tiger%3Agiant_polygon ) -->green square Assign the "grass" style to the "giant_polygon" layer so we can use two different styles Create a "layouts" folder in the geoserver datadir Put the attached foo.xml file in the "layouts" folder Do a GetMap with the format_options=layout:foo parameter to add the legend to the image ( http://localhost:8080/geoserver/wms?format_options=layout:foo&bbox=237.76611328125,4.5263671875,244.35791015625,11.1181640625&width=600&height=600&layers=tiger:giant_polygon&REQUEST=GetMap&FORMAT=image/png&styles=giant_polygon ) --> The legend is there but is not the grass_fill.png image Do the same request with the "grass" style ( http://localhost:8080/geoserver/wms?format_options=layout:foo&bbox=237.76611328125,4.5263671875,244.35791015625,11.1181640625&width=600&height=600&layers=tiger:giant_polygon&REQUEST=GetMap&FORMAT=image/png&styles=grass ) --> The legend is correct because there is no custom image in the style I'm expecting to the custom legend in the image as the attached "expected.png" file (it's a hand-crafted image) Add Comment   Get Jira notifications on your phone!
