Also tested with locally built images from the kartoza/docker-geoserver repo (
https://github.com/kartoza/docker-geoserver ) to identify version where issue
begins. Using 2.15.0 branch (Commit: 70d5bc8) build with geoserver versions:
* 2.15.0, 2.15.1, (do not reproduce issue)
* 2.15.2, 2.15.5, 2.16.0, 2.17.0 (do reproduce issue)

Some fraction of WMS requests (proportion varies but generally ~15%) to this
layer return images with rectangular sections missing. See attached example
'NSIDC-g02135_extent_raster_daily_n.png'. Missing section varies.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create geotiff store with '20100101_N_20100101_extent_v3.0.tif' and publish
with attached style
2. Make the following request repeatedly until issue manifests (reliably
happens within a few dozen requests)
