The proposal https://github.com/geoserver/geoserver/wiki/GSIP-221 is doing "fine" with the intro and install sections now available if you wish to do A/B comparisons.
- https://jodygarnett.github.io/geoserver/installation/win_installer/ - https://docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/user/installation/win_installer.html The feedback section of the proposal now has a few clear examples of sphinx functionality that goes beyond what markdown can do, and the nearest available functionality. One thing Krishna Lodha was working on during the code sprint was a replacement for substitution (like |version| and |release|.x and |release|-SNAPSHOT). This is the only thing I think is truly missing - as I understand it the mkdocs-marcos-plugin should be able to handle this task. -- Jody Garnett
