Hello,

Thank you for your response. Knowing that it's not the expected behavior we will make some further checks to see that our diagnose is correct and open a ticket.

Thank you
Bingen

Hi,
I confirm this should not happen, an exception should not cause misbehaviors in control-flow. It's a surprise to me, we are running every GeoServer of our own with control-flow, and not seeing this issue. Please open a ticket, ideally with a self-contained example on how to reproduce.

Cheers
Andrea

    Hello,

We are using the GeoWebCache direct WMS integration for serving
some tiles while we cache them on the fly. Time to time, for some
unknown reason, the caching of some tiles throw exceptions. We are
investigating why those error happen, so I can't give much details
yet, but there is something that I suspect that it might be
    behaving unexpectedly.

It looks like whenever an exception happens, Controlflow doesn't
remove the request from the queue. We have configured Controlflow
to allow a maximum of 10 concurrent WMS operations. Once we have
10 exceptions the queue gets blocked and all subsequent calls are
queued until they timeout. The queue stays stuck until we restart
    the server.

By checking the logs we can see that once the queue is stuck the
running requests is always 10, and the blocked requests number
decreases little by little as they timeout. The latest log is
always "running requests: 10, blocked requests: 0". The running
    requests number doesn't decrease.

I understand that the real problem are the exceptions, but I guess
that even if they happen they should at least ideally don't block
the queue. I would appreciate any hint on what it might be
happening or how we could solve it.

Note: We are running Geoserver v2.20.0 with the embeded
    GeoWebcache v1.20.0 and ControlFlow v2.20.0.

    Thanks in advance
