This is a stable release recommended for production systems. See the announcement <https://geoserver.org/announcements/vulnerability/2022/10/24/geoserver-2-21-2-released.html> for details on security vulnerabilities, rest api reset, and updating logging profile date formatting. The last item (logging profile data formatting) requires a bit of a manual fix in your data directory; or setting a startup flag to allow geoserver to manage "built-in" logging profiles automatically. -- Jody Garnett
