Hello,
Yes, rotation works, I didnt explain myself correctly. What I mean is that I
need the points of the shapefile to rotate 360 deegrees. If I use a square as a
marker, I will see the same icon if I rotate the square 0, 90, 180 or 360
deegrees. That is why I want to use a different marker, for example a line, so
I can see how it rotates.
Right now I am using this sld, with external graphic, but it is not good,
because I want to use colors, and now I have to write 50 rules to draw 50
different ships with 50 different colors.
<PointSymbolizer>
<Graphic>
<ExternalGraphic>
<OnlineResource
xlink:type="simple"
xlink:href="ship2.png" />
<Format>image/png</Format>
</ExternalGraphic>
<Size>32</Size>
<Rotation><ogc:PropertyName>Sog</ogc:PropertyName></Rotation>
</Graphic>
</PointSymbolizer>
It would be greate if I could add the ship.png image as a marker so I could
fill it with color. Is that posible??
Thanks!

Odd? Rotation should work on marks as well.
What version of GeoServer are you using? Also, can you share the SLD
you're using?
Cheers
