I never tried that. The first thing to look would be, is ImageServer able to do
WMS cascading?
Otherwise I guess you could look into a replacement, since you have a license
can install and use imageio-ext with the ecw extensions and have GeoServer
serve your ecw files directly, without the help of ImageServer.

Or, if you want, you can reverse the relationship. If you are going out with
standard protocols (WMS) you may also use GeoServer 2.1 beta and make
it WMS cascade the ImageServer.
