Subject: Re: [Geoserver-users] SLD Presets for OSM

The OpenStreetMap-in-a-Box project uses GeoServer and has some SLDs available
in their SVN repository. I haven't checked them out in any detail so I am not
sure if they are compatible with OpenStreetMap shapefiles from Cloudmade or
PostGIS tables loaded via osm2pgsql, but it would probably be worth looking at
to start.

The SLDs we use for http://maps.opengeo.org/ are also on github (the original
poster has taken it down, but a couple of forks remain.) The most recent
changes appear to have happened here:
https://github.com/darrell/openstreetmap-sld
Note that although it is on Github, you can use the big 'Downloads' button on
the right side to get the slds in a zip archive without needing to use git.
If you are feeling more adventurous, I have also been working on a tool to
convert Mapnik style definitions to GeoServer LayerGroups. I have mostly tested
it with the styles from MapQuest Open (http://open.mapquest.co.uk/). It's a
little rough, but you only have to run it once and then you have the SLDs.

The converter is at https://github.com/dwins/mapnik2geotoolsThe MapQuest Mapnik
config is at https://github.com/MapQuest/MapQuest-Mapnik-Style

Hope this helps.

Hey there,
i don't really know if this has been discussed here before, but are there any
SLD-Presets for styling OSM-data? I know it's a pain in the **tt to write
complete SLDs for every zoom-level, but perhaps there is a source anywhere
where you can download finished SLDs?
