Hi Milo,
Yes. We're using geoserver for more than one year know and are very happy
with it.
We're using the dutch projection (EPSG:28992) for all of our raster data so
no reprojection has been done.
I could test if the problem also appears if I do a reprojection to something
like 4326 or something..
We also use pre-rendered OSM tiles in EPSG:28992 and have a street overlay
in a postgis and serve it
as a transparant WMS layer using geoserver.
Here's a youtube of our online flash application called GlobeSpotter that
uses geoserver's WMS and WFS:

We also use geoserver to server WFS data and project it in our (correctly
georeferenced!) panoramic images.
Unfortunately Geoserver doesn't support 3D WFS/GML so we use deegree for the
3D vector data.
This one shows some more interesting WFS stuff:

Anyway.. i'll dig furthur to be able to reproduce this problem under
different situations.
Regards,
Sjoerd

Beautiful is writing same markup. Internet Explorer 9 supports
standards for HTML5, CSS3, SVG 1.1, ECMAScript5, and DOM L2 & L3.
Spend less time writing and rewriting code and more time creating great
experiences on the web. Be a part of the beta today
