Hi,
I've the following situation:
1. A non-spatial table with a code column, stored in Postgres, with
information incremented from a custom desktop software.
2. A shapefile with a code column, that is the KEY Column to make a JOIN
with the non-spatial table stored in Postgres. The custom desktop software
uses this join to show the geometry correspondent to that table entry.
3. The custom desktop software was build over ArcGIS Engine and it is a
extension to ArcVIEW, so it cant access PostGIS, just shapefiles (that is
the motive to make the JOIN..)
4. The client need to show this data by a WMS service, but need it dynamic,
changing with his inputs in the non-spatial table and shapefile increments.
So, now my questions:
A. Can i publish a non-spatial table on Geoserver, then with the shapefile
published too, make a JOIN using the code column, creating a WMS service?
B. If not, there is another way to fulfill my client request?
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Flavio Carmo
