Hi Garey,
My first impression is that it would be a significant amount of work to add
this feature. It would involve changes to the core catalog sub system and
possibly changes to surrounding systems that use workspaces
for resource lookups and the like.
I don't think there is any plan to implement this feature on the road map.
So unless someone shows up with some funding or a developer to implement the
feature it would probably not be implemented.
