Hi everybody,

I was wondering if there is any way to get a raster terrain like the one
used in google maps (
example<http://maps.google.it/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=it&geocode=&q=zambia&sll=41.442726,12.392578&sspn=19.310941,46.538086&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Zambia&ll=-14.623451,30.099106&spn=0.390004,0.727158&t=p&z=11>)
having a DTED and using the gdal toolds. What is it? Hillshade?
I tried creating a hillshade using gdaldem, and the result is okay (a bit
too confusing, probably), but I noticed that there are other different type
of maps (TRI, TPI, http://www.gdal.org/gdaldem.html ). Which one is better?
Is there any SLD example which I may use with them?

Thank you!
