Thanks both of you for the quick replies. I am using a set of INSPIRE schemas generated to conform to 3.1.1 (well spotted!), so this shouldn't be the problem.
The other two points are more relevant. I also believe that the source is null, but I don't know why. However, if hy-p:geometry cannot be LineString this is probably the cause. Do you know how I could manipulate the data I have to allow it to conform to hy-p:geometry? That is, presumably, GeometricPrimitivePropertyType.
