I'm using GeoServer 2.0.2. Here are the gdalinfo outputs of the two rasters:

I put #000000 as the both the Input and Output transparent color: it would
permit the correct overlapping and visualization of the rasters.

I opened the shapefile and in the metadata it seems that there is only 1
feature, as you guessed. !
