Hi Pedro,

I finally found some time to look at your issue, my apologis for taking so
long. I was able to reproduce the, however possibly not for the same cause.

In my case (on mac) the spatialite library was not loading properly due to
not being able to load the geos and proj libraries, which on my system i had
compiled for 64 bit. However once I swapped them out for 32 bit libs it
worked great.

So my guess is that the spatialite lib is having a problem loading. Some
information about your system will. OS and architecture.

Also, if the library does not load you should get an error on the console or
in the log. Scan through the log and if you see any messages regarding the
spatialite lib include those as well.
