Hi,

You can use GEOSERVER_METADATA table for controlling the primary key lookup and
thus how fids are generated. It may be poorly documented but reading this
should help you

Aihe: [Geoserver-users] gml:id on WFS getFeature response

Hi list,
I would like to change the gml:id value on my geoserver's wfs getFeature
response.
I get something like: gml:id="myLayer.fid-395f5e9f_12dd69d7451_a8f"
Since I use data from a postgis view that I cannot change and it has no
primary key.
I made that on Mapserver's map files using a metadata tag (OWS_FEATUREID
"my_id") but I can't find anything like that on geoserver's configuration
interface, and I need to user geoserver.

Thanks and regards.
