Thanks Justin!
I'm sorry I should have been more careful and see that the issue
titled Google earth tiles and KML was the same issue.
Nonetheless, the problem remains, at least for arcGrid formats. I
downloaded the last build:

Version 2.2-SNAPSHOT
Subversion Revision 15422
Build Date 11-Feb-2011 03:32
GeoTools Version 2.8-SNAPSHOT (rev 36562)

The generated logs after a wms kml request have changed, but nothing
points to the problem. In regard to the issue's explanation
(GEOS-4345), it says
"The URL's for Overlays got screwed up sometime between 2.1-beta1 and
RC-1. RC-1". Notwithstanding, you can test the same problem happens
with the server
http://demo.opengeo.org/geoserver/ (version 2.0 SNAPSHOT)
One thing though, I'm using arcGrids, the other kmls worked fine (for
instance Tasmania Roads), but not the arcGrids (for instance the North
America sample imagery)

I wished I could do more but I'm only starting my PhD and getting
acquainted with the geoserver functionality. Thanks for the Help. Best
regards,
