Hi Andrea, It's a legacy internal WMS that is serving up ECWs. We don't have a licence to use ECW with anything else so cascading from our new WMS to our old one was nice, quick and clean method of getting that data.
I understand that the 1.0 WMS is rare as I was trying to find a public 1.0 WMS to test if it is just our old WMS that is the problem but couldn't find one.
