However one thing I'm sure of, if you are using WFS-T you should stay away
from shapefiles
and use PostGIS instead. Databases are made for the kind of concurrent
editing that
a WFS-T does, files are not.

I don't think anybody ever seriously used shapefiles in a WFS-T context in
production.
