Hi all,

I'm using a custom palette as described in the GeoServer documentation
http://docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/user/tutorials/palettedimage/palettedimage.html
here . My problem is that when I request a PNG using my palette, the
image's null regions are coloured white instead of transparent. If I don't
use the palette the transparent regions work fine.

Is this an expected behaviour? I've tested this in version 2.0.2 and 2.1
RC1.

Request using a custom palette:
http://HOST/geoserver/wms?LAYERS=layer&WIDTH=1000&HEIGHT=500&STYLES=&FORMAT=image/png&SERVICE=WMS&VERSION=1.1.1&REQUEST=GetMap&EXCEPTIONS=application%2Fvnd.ogc.se_inimage&BBOX=-180,-90,180,90&TRANSPARENT=TRUE&PALETTE=test_palette

Normal PNG request:
http://HOST/geoserver/wms?LAYERS=layer&WIDTH=1000&HEIGHT=500&STYLES=&FORMAT=image/png&SERVICE=WMS&VERSION=1.1.1&REQUEST=GetMap&EXCEPTIONS=application%2Fvnd.ogc.se_inimage&BBOX=-180,-90,180,90&TRANSPARENT=TRUE

Thanks

Andrew Dwyer
