Yes, as far as I know the code just ignores it.
I've been told that for the particular case of Oracle the unit manages to go
down into the database query, but not in the requested form, so it does not
work.

Whatever behavior you might think you're seeing is completely erratic/random,
there is no intention of supporting units in the codebase.
