Hi there,

I'm going to be serving map tiles from GeoServer to Google Maps. Great.

I also have a ton of markers that I need to place on the maps too. I'm
thinking that I'll send them down via AJAX/REST as JSON. Just wondering if I
should store the data / have it served by GeoServer (where I'm sure it can
filter data according to location), or if I should just create a simple
MySQL database and write some code to send the JSON down to Google Maps.

What I like about using GeoServer (however that is done / if it can be done)
is that I have all my data in one place.
What I like about using MySQL / Servlet is that I'm a developer and it will
make it really quick, simple and easy to develop.

I'd love to hear some of your thoughts.
