Just made a quick round of tests without ever involving the preview: - start GS - connect via a desktop client (QGis) - add layers, works - stop geoserver - restart - keep on browsing in the desktop client, so that direct GetMap are issued without even going through the capabilities document: still works The only difference I can think of is that the desktop clients will hit the http://host:port/geoserver/ows? url instead of wms Cheers Andrea -- ------------------------------------------------------- Ing.
