One way is to put squid as a reverse caching proxy in front of
GeoServer, it will cache each and
every request made.
There are various guides on the internet, just search for "squid reverse proxy".

And then remember to tell GeoServer is being proxied providing the "proxy base
url" (search the geoserver user guide for details)
