Hi,

I hope somebody can help me; it's not easy to describe the failure in
an easy way, but I hope someone of this community can understand what
I wrote below. If not -- please ask me and I'll try to give a more
detailed description.

I try to install a local WMS server for a local network with
GeoServer. Its version 2.2.1 or 2.2.0 on Tomacat with Ubuntu 64 Bit
10.04 LTS operating system at virtual server with 2 processors and 1
GB of Ram. I decided to run the GeoServer set up with web archive.
WFS and WCS requests are fine; and I can display demo pages with the
OpenLayers examples. There are no configurations on the server; its
just the GeoServer (without any changes) with Tomcat and Apache on the
server running.

My problem is that I'm not able to run a WMS GetCapabilities request
successfully (WFS and WCS are fine). The error occoured in gis
software, when I try to configure the WMS server (Qgis or uDig) or in
the browser when I click the links for WMS at geoserver/web page.

The error is this:
error on line 4718 at column 17: XML declaration allowed only at the
start of the document
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.
... [several lines, most of them are epsg-codes, and the list ends
every time with "EPSG:66166405"

What could be the reason for this kind of error? I have not an idea
how to trouble shut this problem. Thx for any advices!

Bye,
Sisyphos
