You're right, of course, I was relying on the way the fields were displayed in the OpenLayers preview, which is to show them in all-caps despite their being all-lowercase in the original table.
It works just perfectly, now. Does it matter where in the request that I put the &CQL_FILTER parameters? The error message should be clear enough, there is no OWNER_ID property in View2.
