Hello,
I have just started to use GeoServer and I have hit this problem. Please
forgive my none professional tone, I am new to webmapping and still a fairly
green GIS apprentice!!
I created a shapefile in QGIS out of a CVS file. When I exported it, I clearly
stated that the Coordinate system should be OSGB 1936 (EPSG: 4277) (the file
works, I have tested it both on QGIS and Grass, it was also accepted by
GeoCommons)
I imported the file using the same process as the one describe in the GeoServer
tutorial with NY_roads. (I therefore doubt the problem is there)
When I arrived to save the layer, the Native SRS came as Unknown... so I
specified it and "forced declared" it.
After I went to Layer Preview.
I tried to preview my layer with OpenLayers but instead of showing it in a new
window with a little OpenLayers window like for the other layers, a new window
"Opening wms" open with the following text.
"You have chosen to open
wms
whis is a application/vnd.ogc.se_xml
from: http://localhost:8080
what should Firefox do with this file?
Open with
Save File"
I don't understand what I am doing wrong? Is the problem coming from GeoServer
or from my file?
