Michele, Check out the option to use external graphics as a polygon fill. Create yr pattern in an external graphics editor: a square with the bgcolor you want yr polygon to have and on top you can add your triangles with the colours, spacing and pattern that you require. Put your graphics file on the server and reference in your sld. Good luck!
