the work that is mentioned on our post is rather experimental and:
- it is supposed to work with geoserver trunk
- it has been tested successfully with the ImageCollection plugin that
can you can find here:

Unfortunately the developer who did most of the work is on vacation
(Daniele) therefore if you start testing and get stuck I guess you

to wait a little bit before getting a meaningful answer.
