Hi, we have this problem in our, I know, old Geoserver (1.7.6 or 7). We have some restrictions which may prevent us upgrading into 2.x.
We upload geotiffs using REST-plugin. Response is ok, but if we do a WMS-request against that particular layer right after ok-response, it will crash the GeoServer.
