Kempenaers, please don't post 3 times the same question, if you don't
get an answer it
either means that nobody knows the answer, people are too busy to
answer, or that
you posted the second question before the first one and the developers
just got annoyed
by it and decided not to answer.

The mailing list is a place were people do volountarily share their
time to answer each other
questions, if you need quick and precise answers you should consider
getting a support
contract, there are multiple companies selling them.

Going back to your problem, there is no configuration that you can
change to get what
you want (that I can think of).
What we can do is to change the code (I don't really know why we have
to add that
extra portion, anybody else has a clue?) or write your own URLMangler
http://svn.codehaus.org/geoserver/trunk/src/ows/src/main/java/org/geoserver/ows/URLMangler.java
and plug it in by declaring in in applicationContext.xml
