Hi Marc,

                I'm not familiar with the functionality you are referring
to, but postgis is extensible with pgrouting http://www.pgrouting.org/,
which adds extensive routing capabilities.  I would look to the
tutorials/workshops http://www.pgrouting.org/documentation.html for
deployment through a web interface.

Currently, when using arcmap, we attach tables to a calibrated routing
system. ("Display route events" funtionality)

Is there a way to do this using postgis/geoserver?
