It is a workaround if you find the raster reprojection quality is not to
your liking.
We do reproject rasters often at my company and the result is generally
good enough, but
it's really a case by case thing, I've also seen some bad cases which we
tracked down to
the issues I've reported above.

Alternatively you can contribute a fix, or use the commercial support to
have someone do it for you
