I had a quick look at it, but there was no support for the target  
platform (IBM Java).

I would recommend
http://geonetwork-opensource.org/

Some reasons why

- Many installations
- You get help from the user mailing list
- INSPIRE ready, AFAIK, in the future there will be a special INSPIRE  
installation package
- I know from two enterprises here in Austria participating in the  
INSPIRE project, it simple works after correct configuration.
