Hi,

If it is not possible to enhance the image viewer to support LZW compressed
tiffs, how about doing the conversion on the client side for example with
gdal_translate? I suppose it is possible to make Geoserver to send uncompressed
tiffs but what if your client one day wants to use also third-party WCS
services which are perhaps also sending some not directly usable format?

Aihe: [Geoserver-users] Geotiff LZW compression

Hi,

My project has an application that can display GeoTiff files on a map.

We are now required to use WCS getCoverage to get GeoTiff files from GeoServer
and then display these GeoTiffs on the map.

When I retrieve the GeoTiffs from GeoServer, they are compressed by LZW
compression and I am not able to plot these compressed files onto our map.

Does anyone know if there is a way to retrieve the GeoTiffs from GeoServer
without them being LZW compressed? Or can anyone point me in a good direction
to develop a solution?

Thank you very much.

Kevin
