and discussed on the geoserver-devel list (keywords are GSIP 66 and GSIP 67). My understanding is that the new functionality is optional and users can choose to ignore it. As I discussed on the devel list, these changes are unsuitable for app-schema, which is generally deployed as many related feature types in different workspaces delivered over a single service end-point. The implemented changes do not accommodate this use case, and so are unlikely to be useful for substantial app-schema deployments. Kind regards, Ben.
